Sennelier Artists' Oil Sticks 96ml can be used alone or in combination with tube oil paints. Like regular oils, they can be diluted with turpentine and dry to a hard film. These creamy, lightfast sticks may be used for sketching or for producing complete works of art on any traditional oil paint surface. Sennelier Artists’ Oil Sticks 96ml allow you to approach oil painting in an entirely new and expressive manner. They extend the degree of spontaneity, allowing for greater freedom in approach and without the need for a brush. Sennelier Oil Sticks 96ml are a combination of oil paint, with a small amount of the oil substituted with natural mineral wax enabling them to be produced in stick form. These sticks are produced from pure pigments and have the highest possible lightfast and permanence ratings. Oil sticks can also be fully intermixed with conventional oil colours and mediums. A special mineral wax gives the sticks a creamy consistency, which ensures the adhesion of the color on all commercial oil painting surfaces. These Sennelier Oil Sticks 96ml contain selected vegetable oils to guarantee permanent protection against yellowing.
Varnish can be applied to your work after 6 months, as with conventional oil paints. Before using these Sennelier Oil Sticks 96ml, remove the fine protective film on the stick. This film will re-form in a few days if the stick is not used. Colours dry in 2-4 days, depending on the thickness of the paint layer and the ambient temperature.
